My daughter was recently up for a job and I'd sort of made a deal with the Gods that, in return for her getting it, I'd happily trade us losing and Tottenham winning the CL (as is well-known, I have mysterious and eldritch powers in these matters - see Arsenal and the Ashes circa 2005).
