Anyone know why buses aren’t required to have seatbelts but
coaches are?

What’s the reasoning behind that?

Aren't buses essentially state, or council, -run, allowing them to ignore all kinds of regulations?

Eh?
I used to travel on coaches a lot when I was relatively poor. Buses are a convenient way to get around London. They have Zil lanes and everything. :cloud9:
Seatbelts on buses would be a major PITA.

Blimey. I can't remember what I paid on the Coventry to London coach, but it must have been quite a bit more than that as I used to hitch a lot then too.
Later I did the Birmingham to Lyon by coach quite a bit. Took ages.

I think that was a special offer tbf. I once went from Darwin to Melbourne via Mount Isa, Cairns, Brisbane and Sydney - there were some long journeys there, particularly with a very sunburned back
