I use the Only Connect time for showering. Whilst far from immune to the charms of VC-M,
I find the contestants far too creepy.

I was confronted with a pastry top pie at the inlaws' yesterday
Decorum prohibited me giving them a lecture on the subject of how this is very much a lazy pie and I frankly expected better from a retired person.
I ate it all up, mind. Lovely pseudo pie

What? You demand the completely encased pie?
While I sympathise to some extent, I think you're asking a lot.
Very hard to avoid a soggy bottom in a stew-based pie, for instance.

Tonight's activities. Clean my cars windows, I will then watch Italian telly
and eat a pizza.
I may then play the guitar a little bit.

I was also a house guest at the weekend j, and enjoyed, amongst other things, garlic custard
and lamby bacon.
It was all rather fabulous.

I'm pretty sure not, but since my taste and smellbuds were pretty much destroyed by
gallons of liquor and about 300 Marlboro Lights, I really wouldn't be able to say for sure.

Actually, the garlic sauce was a triumph, if I do say so myself.
It was only custardy in the sense that I added a dash of cream and folded in an egg yolk to thicken.
I served it on lamb cutlets. They'd have been too rare for you, though, I think.

My ever-tactful wife had put the suggestion in people's heads by that stage, though.
Mind you, I had just been cleaning the kitchen and everything out there was covered in a thin film of tallow. :-(
