Mind you, it would be nice if they did stop it

Oh, I agree. As long as it's on their own terms.
They're great in their place, certainly. Page 3 does always pose that difficulty in the barber where
you don't want to turn the page from it immediately in case people think you're some sort of hoity-toity pooftah, but you don't want to look at it for so long that people think you're leering at it, either. It's a fine balancing act.

I'm trying to imagine a copy of The Sun in my 'barber'.
Do you no longer go to your Levantine friend in Crockenhill?
Jesus, even my barber is all scotch and cigars. They're all hipsters nowadays
Though they obviously can only stretch to Nespresso, which is an otherwise unsophisticated chink in their poncey armour.
My God, I haven't been there for almost a decade.
I go to this place in Covent Garden and get done by an 'Artistic Director' :-(
She makes me.
This is an area in which I'm utterly without pretension*, I'm afraid.
I favour Turks. They are surly, but thorough and don't annoy one by attempting conversation. They also do stuff like burn hair out of your ears, which I like. The fact that my hair resists any form of innovation, meaning that I have essentially the same haircut regardless what I do is a factor, too.
