How bizarre. This morning I distinctly heard 'laurel'.

Now it's clearly 'yanny'.

Just goes to show, you can't believe the evidence of your own ears.

I could actually hear both. Laurel being spoken at a very much lower register than Yanny. I suppose it’s all down to range and the kit you’re using for speakers
