I am actually a little ashamed to have reached this number.

I can't top myself with any whacky tales but I will provide a few giggles over my photo I will post.

confession time. I once visited an escort. but for some reason I went to see one who was massive. as in super massive.

Firstly.

Here is a photo of me at my lowest point in my life.

And here is a story about my Ice Hockey days.

I wrote this when I was at school so it's a load of shit enjoy and played for many years later.

About Me
My name is Adam and I live in London England. I was born in Halifax Nova Scotia Canada in June 1982. My father is Canadian and my mother is English. I moved to London when I was 3 years old and grew up and went to school here. I started to skate in 1995 when I was 13 years old. I bought a pair of cheap roller blades and kept practising over and over. After a month or so my friend at school asked me to go ice skating at the local leisure centre. It was a very small rink about 1/2 size if that. I found ice skating was pretty easy and I kept going about 3 times a week. The skates they hired at the rink were cheap blue figure skating boots, they were so painful to wear and I had some really big blisters. So I thought I need a pair of my own skates so I thought to myself how I could get a pair so just after my 14th birthday I took my money down to the skate shop and bought myself a pair of Tour 45 ice skates. They wasn't that good but they were my own and they didn't give me blisters. That summer I was going skating 3 times a day everyday of the week. I finally was a good skater. My friend Karim had an interest in hockey and he has some NHL videos so when I was around his house I got my first real look at hockey. I loved it cause its was like nothing I has seen before. There was collisions, fighting and a lot of skill. So me and him decided that we will start playing hockey as soon as we are good enough.

Well it was September of 1995 and we thought its time we start playing. So we went to the Sobell Centre on the 25/09/95 for training. We had hardly and equipment I had my koho revolution stick that I loved my skates and that was it. We was waiting outside and started talking to the others who said it was cancelled. We was pretty mad and made a complaint. So I phoned home and waited till the evening skating session started. After the skating had stopped we cleared the ice for the adult training session. We saw some of the guys arrived and a man wearing a Hartford Whalers jersey. We started talking to them saying that we haven't got a coach. He agreed to be our coach and he let us skate with them for a little while. It was my first time on the ice playing hockey I had practised a lot outside my house but this was really different the puck moved so much faster and with no gloves it hurt every time I took a shot.

I knew that I loved playing even though I wasn't that good. Me and my friend went to every session we could Wednesday nights and very early Sunday mornings. We talked everyday on the phone about trades in the NHL and argued about who was better the Kings or the Mighty Ducks. We bought the latest NHL games for our computers and kept the rosters up to date by going down to sportspages every Saturday to buy The Hockey News. The coaching thing didn't work out with Gary (the Hartford Whaler fan) and he left after a while. I think the kids didn't like him cause he actually made us do drills. Anyway he left and a guy called Junior became the coach. He wasn't really a coach cause he just let us play and made us do press ups. After a while it got organised and I'll never forget when I scored my first goal. It was in 4 on 4 game me and Karim and to crap defenders against 4 better players than us who though it was fun to scare us with their slapshots and checks. Anyway we felt quite intimidated by them and I took the face off. I won the face off passed it to Karim and rocketed off to the blue line he passed it to me and I shot and I scored. I was so happy that I scored and the fact I was against those bigger players and it only took like 7 seconds. They kicked our ass for the rest of the shift though.

My aunt in Canada said she was going to send me my cousins old hockey equipment. I waited ages and it finally arrived on a Wednesday afternoon. I was so happy finally I had all the equipment. I had an old cooper girdle with black covers, some old cooper shin guards, a Jofa helmet like Peter Klima wore and some CCM gloves. For some reason I love old equipment I think its so cool from the early 80's and late 70's.

After about 5-6 months all the good players left and never turned up anymore so it was just me and my friend and some of the others. So that made me the best player there. I really improved my game and I scored over 79 goals in about 3 months. I really thought I was better than I was but that was because I never really had any competition.

It was Christmas 1996 and my Aunt Diane came over from Halifax to stay with us. She and my parents bought me a pair of CCM tacks ice skates. They were great they were one of the best pairs you could get, they had the pump on them to. Also that year my mum & dad bought me an Easton Aluminium T-flex hockey stick and with the money I had I bough some red Easton GX26 gloves. I felt really special skating around with all this great stuff and it did actually improve my game.
Although I must have gone to hundreds of training sessions a lot of them stick out in my mind. Just a few weeks after I got my Easton Stick we were doing slap shots and my blade just broke and went flying. It felt good and bad, good because I actually broke a stick and it made me feel like I was a pro and bad cause I had to get a new blade and people thought it was funny. Another time that sticks out in my mind is when we was playing a normal game and everything seemed ok till the other teams line to be checking us a bit to much. Before the face-off they were about to drop the puck when they all huddled together and were talking about what they were going to do. Finally they all got in position and the puck dropped, I looked round to see where the puck went and all I see is that they all dropped their gloves and I see a guy charging at me. I dropped my gloves and immediately grabbed my friend who was playing on the other side. We were just pushing and grabbing at each other and throwing a few weak punches as we were both wearing cage visors. There was a big bundle at centre ice and this went on for about 5 minutes till the coach had enough and stopped it.

I only got into a few altercations while I was playing. Nobody really fought because you'd get banned as we were kids. Things that players do really piss you off sometimes. I was in the corner playing the puck and I was just chipping it out when bang I got hit from behind, I stood up and punched the kid in the face with my glove on he got shook up cause he wasn't expecting that and then he hit me back and I crossed checked him in the arm. We were swearing at each other I dropped my gloves and took pulled his helmet off and gave him a punch in the face he was saying come on take the helmet off so I did and we was going at it. nobody knew this was happening cause the puck was down the other end. The coach came over to us and split us up and told us to calm down. I only had one other fight and it was with my friend Karim it wasn't serious but we just thought near the end of a game it was quite funny cause I always got his jersey off.

I lost a tooth playing hockey too. It was a Sunday morning and the coach didn't turn up so me and Karim was skating around as we was only two ready. I had my helmet on the boards and was just warming up I saw him skating round centre ice so I had a puck I went to put round his right and I'd go to the left but he put his head down and went mouth first in to his CCM helmet. I span round and there was blood everywhere. I had to go hospital that afternoon and have 8 stitches in my gums and I had no front tooth for ages.

The most important game I played was against a team from Alexandra Palace. We was actually working quite well as a team. We had a coach called Laurie he was Canadian but grew up in Scotland he arranged the games for us. He was a really nice guy and he wanted to used our team like a farm team for the team at Alexandra Palace. It was a close game and I scored a couple of goals. The goalie for the other team was really good and it was really close. The game ended 5-5 so it had to be decided on penalty shots. We were doing well we scored 3 and missed one and they had scored 4 and our goalie saved one. So I was the last player to take their shot. I had to score to keep us in if I missed then we lost. I was just about to take it when a the coaches son called me over. He was also a goalie and played for the England junior team. He said to me I know this goalie and go backhand low. I listened to him and I used to do two things when I was taking penalty shots I either used to go glove side high or back hand high. I skated up and started skating down the ice everybody was watching I faked the goalie by moving right then quickly went to the left the goalie out of position leaving the open net. For some reason I decided to go high with the back hand and it went just over the crossbar. I was really pissed off at that and the I get the coaches son saying I said go Low!
