I've banged on enough about Prior at 6 so no comment on that. Looking forward to Taylor batting though - the boy is utter class. Slips are a problem as well. No genuine 2nd slip in the side (though apparently at Warwickshire Trott is considered the best slipper by some distance). However, they did actually bowl better on that surface than we did. It was pointed out, and I've said it myself, that England are good at sweating the batsmen out. But on a good pitch, with patient batsmen, we sometimes look a little toothless. Just look at the trouble we have with batsmen like Dravid & Chanderpaul. Sure all teams struggle to get these guys out, but I think we struggle more than most.

This is where Finn can make the difference in my opinion. Can be expensive, but he makes things happen with his pace and height.

and then when we chose to bowl. The ball is doing very little, the pitch looks docile and the only weak link we've seen so far is looking very comfortable.

Sure it may turn around quickly, but I think we've got a long day ahead of us.
