Some c**t on twitter: "AS report that as well as a concrete offer from Arsenal, Malaga have received enquiries from Chelsea & Spurs about Santi Cazorla."

Would the lad want to join spurs and miss out on the champions league again?

Who do Chelsea have - Mata, Hazard, Markin, Oscar and then a few others like Lampard, Ramires.

We have as many, more probably when they're all fit.

Due to Malaga's deadline, this one won't drag on

as a fan would, even if he isn't really one, than our own owners' sober, dispassionate composure, I reckon.

I mean, it's football, for God's sake!

Also, chelsea have just signed three of those you mentioned. Wouldnt they want to have a look at them first? We prettymuch know what ours offer already.

Their owner's interest has been rejuvenated.

You'll remember last season they were ****e, how we laughed.

He hasn't taken any money out of the club, and if he put any in Wenger wouldn't spend it anyway. Where's the problem?

Nor whst wenger would do with the money if he had it. Nor even whether he has it.

Stan looks like a tightarse, and that is proof enough for me.

If i wanted our owner to turn us into another City or Chelsea I would have called for Usmanov by now (although his intentions dont seem entirely innocent).

Yeah stan doesnt really seem to give a f**k. But isn't no presence at all a lot better than him being vocal and making awful decisions?

Plus it is quite handy, as it allows us to forget that we are actually owned by a weird looking American with a tobacco-stained moustache

Fake, or otherwise.

He just seems to say, Right, let's get a £50 million goal-shy striker, I'll hire and fire a few managers and hang out with JT and the lads, then get some clever sort in to draw up some fancy new stadium plans and see what happens.

Much more fun, I reckon.

without saying anything, that would've been fine.

As it is, we are all now committed to doing things this way, the way we are doing them.

does tend to take the edge of any success, but have we always been self sustaining as a Thatcherite corner-shop? Record signing of DB10 - the poster boy of AW's glory years? £50m invested into the club by a diamond dealer before same glory years? Club rescued from extinction by property tycoon who moved us to Islington and spent his own money on a very expensive stadium? Bank of England Club?

I'm playing devils advocate here, because I would dearly love AW to win again in what we recognise as our way against the oil-gross-national-product and ex-Soviet-gangster-types. If our (alleged) ex-Soviet-gangster-type started buying us trophies I really don't know how I'd feel. There's investment in a club, and there is obscene levels of spending - and somewhere there is a line between the two. I know which side Chelsea and City are on.

At least, I hope he did http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/smile.gif
